Alison Rose is Deputy CEO of NatWest Holdings and Chief Executive of the Royal Bank of Scotland’s Commercial & Private Banking business. An influential member of the RBS Executive Management Team, she leads over 12,000 people and is accountable for market-leading brands including Coutts and Lombard. She has worked at RBS for over 25 years. Before her current role, Alison was Head of Europe, Middle East and Africa, Markets & International Banking. Previous roles with RBS include Head of EMEA Corporate Coverage & Client Management; Head of Non–investment Grade Origination; and Head of Leveraged Finance for the UK and Europe. Alison has previously been shortlisted for the ‘Most Influential Woman in Investment Banking’ award by Financial News and included in the 2018 Innovate Finance Powerlist. Alison has a customer obsession that makes her committed to driving new ways of supporting business customers. She champions NatWest’s unique Entrepreneur Accelerator Programme, which offers tailored support, advice and opportunities to businesses as they start up and as they scale up. Under her leadership, the bank has also launched a range of innovative digital solutions which make business banking simpler and more flexible, and free up time for customers to spend on their businesses. She is also a passionate supporter of all types of diversity and is executive sponsor of the bank’s employee-led diversity networks. Earlier this year, at the request of the UK Government, she led the Rose Review into female entrepreneurship. This set out eight recommended interventions to the UK Government to help more female entrepreneurs succeed. She has recently launched the Back Her Business campaign which leverages the bank’s entrepreneur accelerators, partnerships with local enterprise support organisations across the UK, and direct funding to enable more women from all backgrounds to start up in business.
