Public Relations and Women’s Banking Head, Stanbic Bank Zambia
Chanda Chime – Katongo is a banker of more than 16 years’ experience with 9 years in senior positions. She has implemented various initiatives to improve channel efficiency and productivity, and she works well under pressure. She has a proven track record of achieving targets and being an effective team leader when leading projects. Her key achievements include spearheading the launch of the Women’s Banking Proposition in two of the biggest Banks in Zambia. Currently she heads the Women’s Banking Proposition Public Relations and Communications for Stanbic Bank Zambia limited. In her capacity as Head Women’s Banking, she is responsible for the growth of Women’s Banking and ensuring that Stanbic is the Bank of choice for women in Zambia. In Public Relations and Communications she provides support to the Bank in the execution of their role with key External Stakeholders, Crisis Management and Reputational Risk Management. Before joining Stanbic Bank, she worked as Country Manager Corporate Affairs at Standard Chartered Bank for 4 Years working with External and Internal Stakeholders. Prior to this she worked in Retail Banking as Head Deposits and Products. In this role she won numerous global and local awards including a one for the launch of a Women’s Banking Proposition. Chanda holds a Bachelor of Business Studies from Greenwich University in the United Kingdom as well as an Advanced Diploma in Management Accounting with the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA). She is currently pursuing a Global Leaders MBA with the University of Manchester. Chanda is an avid reader who enjoys traveling, good music and the arts.
