Jane Portas is a Chartered Accountant and a Partner at PwC with 30 years’ experience of advising international insurance and intermediary businesses on regulation, risk management and related strategic business change. She has held various regulatory policy and supervision roles, both directly at the UK regulators, and more widely advising international regulators. Jane leads PwC’s Brexit and Customer & Conduct services for Insurance, Vulnerable Customers advice across Financial Services and more broadly advises clients on Financial Wellbeing. She is also the firm’s Financial Inclusion leader. In January2017, Jane was invited to provide expert evidence to the UK Treasury Select Committee on Solvency II and the options for the UK regime post Brexit. Jane is a co-founder of Insuring Women’s Futures, a Chartered Insurance Institute programme aimed at improving women’s financial resilience. The programme is a collaboration of leading firms and individuals across the insurance, personal finance and wider financial services profession working in parallel with expert individuals and organisations including policymakers, regulators and the third sector.
