As Chief of Staff for Commercial and Private Banking, RBS/NatWest, Laila worked closely with Alison Rose and McKinsey on the Rose Review, proposing practical solutions to barriers faced by female entrepreneurs in the UK. She has over 20 years experience in the world of banking, having previously worked as a lawyer with CMS Cameron McKenna. Laila joined RBS in 2002 and has held various in house legal roles, including as General Counsel for International Banking and Head of Legal, Commercial Banking, before moving to her current role, where she is also responsible for Dream Bigger, the NatWest programme designed to inspire and encourage young women by providing access to entrepreneurial skills based training.
